Voice
At a|d|a|m we offer vocal lessons that will serve as an introduction to the world of vocal music. Whether in a large
group, small group or one on one a\d|a|m 's staffl concentrates on both improving the students’ skills as well
as exposing them to a variety of vocal repertoire. Students will learn proper singing techniques so that their voice may improve
and continue to grow. These lessons are meant to expose students not only to vocal repertoire, but also to the variety of
performing styles and groups. These lessons are not intended for those want to develop that love for singing. The vocal program
"CaCoPhonics" at a|d|a|m is signed to teach individual skills wthin a group setting, this way no one
is soloed out -unless they want to be. CaCophonic meets on Mondays from 5:30- to 6:30, performs 2 concerts a year and
provides local assisted living organizatins with song. Our vocal training can be broken down as such:
Ages 8-11:
· Students will learn about how the voice works
· Students will work on proper breathing techniques
·
Students will learn proper diction
·
Students will gain confidence in their singing abilities
Ages 12-14
· See ages
8-10
·
Students will work on expanding their range
·
Students will learn the beginnings of harmonization
Ages
15+
· Students
will expand their vocal repertoire
· Students will perform in duets and/or quartets
· Students will reinforce the above techniques and expand upon them
·
Students will not only learn pieces, but also some of the history
involved
Instructor Charles Brown has worked with various adult and children choir throughout
southern Maine. Here at a|d|a|m our adults as well as our youth have gained great acknowledge and vocal skills under
the musical direction of Charles Brown. Charles doesn't only sing in his own band...he also plays a piano/organ
at his local church..and here at a|d|a|m he gives both vocal and piano lessons. Charles once played and traveled with
various broadway shows.
