More about A|D|A|M!
A|D|A|M (the Academy of Developing Artists of Maine, Inc.) is a non-profit art academy with the highest quality of learning going on.

A|D|A|M was founded by Ronda Verges in memory of her son Adam who was a victim of bullying due to his unique size, battle with alopecia, and non-confrontational response.

A|D|A|M was developed to teach all areas of the theater from the inside-out, in order to build kids' self-esteem to say, "NO!" to the wayward (bullying, drugs...) of the world and "YES!" to their dreams.

A|D|A|M is dedicated to helping the community by providing our kids with a safe haven where they can come to explore new things without the fear of being rejected, embarrassed or not good enough.

There is NO wrong way to be creative.

A|D|A|M's goal is to provide its students with various fine and performing art programs taught by a well-rounded staff.

A|D|A|M will give back to the community by providing it with fun and entertaining theatrical performances for the whole family to enjoy.

A|D|A|M is a place where one's uniqueness is an asset, voices are heard and individualism is seen.

A|D|A|M is the place where "STARZ" will shine and "ARTISTS" are born!

One Persistant Angel named Adam

Adam Duane Sabins, 1986-2005, may be gone, but by no means is he done.

Two days before Adam's passing he conveyed to his mother, Ms. Ronda Verges, a children's theater director, two requests and one wish.

His first request was that his mother's theatrical company would provide the kids in Missouri with a one-week theatrical camp in the summer so they could build the self-esteem to say "NO" to drugs and "YES" to their dreams.

Secondly, he asked his mom to help his friend, Dillion, get the play he wrote, "Neighborhood Boys", (Adam being one) off the ground.

Thirdly, his wish was for his mom to continue to do what she loves to do in her own art academy so she wouldn't have to work so hard as a traveling troupe.

This is the story where "One Persistent Angel" begins.

Three years after Adam's passing, "The Lighthouse", a childrens' theater company in Missouri, has been established and is running under the directorship of Lynn Hendrick.

Only an angel could take a Maine woman's desire to fill her sons last request, and hook it up with a compassionate woman in Missouri who felt compelled to start a children's theater company.

As for Adam's second request, Dillion just got back from Iran, and Ms. Ronda has yet to find him, but when she does, you can count on "Neighborhood Boys" performing in both Maine and Missouri.

And as for Adam's wish for his mom, miracles do happen!  A|D|A|M (Academy of Developing Artists of Maine) is alive.
